I don’t know about you, but today was the first day it really felt like fall is just around the corner in Washington, D.C. I actually optioned for the 1.5 mile walk to work over the metro to enjoy the sub-70 degree weather.
As kids head back to school, us adults have the autumn shopping bug too. So here are five trends I’m shopping heading into fall. Because back to school shopping shouldn’t only be for kids…
Mock Croc
Adding a faux crocodile – or mock croc – accessory can help make any outfit look expensive. Shop my picks below:
Slip Skirts
Slip skirts are a wardrobe staple and can easily be worn day-to-night. Pair with an oxford shirt for the day or a camisole for night. I own the below Urban Outfitters skirt and I’m even more excited to wear it transitioning into fall.
Boxy Blazers
Boyfriend, boxy blazers are perfect for this time of year. Throw one on over a dress for the office, or pair one with cutoffs and a graphic tee when you’re off the clock. Shop my favorites:
Wide Leg Trousers
A wide leg pant should be in every working girl’s closet. Pair with pumps and blouse or a turtleneck when the weather gets cooler.
Silk Scarves
Recently, I’ve become a big fan of incorporating silk scarves into my outfits. Tie up your hair half-up-half-down with a chic scarf or wear one around your neck if you’re feeling Parisian- silk scarves are a sure way to add a little French girl style to any outfit!
